  • 趣旨:学会英文誌「Phycological Research」に掲載された質の高い論文に本賞を授与することにより,その藻類学への貢献を讃える。
  • 授賞対象論文:前年の1年間における「Phycological Research」に投稿された原著論文で,本会会員によるもの(国籍は問わない)。
  • 選考方法:前年の1年間に出版された「Phycological Research」に投稿された原著論文の中から,英文誌編集委員および評議員による投票で決定する。
  • 賞:授賞論文の著者全員に賞状を授与する。賞の財源は山田基金とする。
